We know that seeking an assessment can feel like a big step — emotionally and financially. Our goal is to keep fees as low as possible, while being clear and transparent about what is included at every stage. No hidden costs, no unnecessary add-ons — just thoughtful, thorough assessment tailored to your individual needs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How long does an adult assessment take?
A: Depending on individual requirements, assessments generally require 3-4 sessions, each lasting approximately 50-90 minutes.

Q: Will I be diagnosed on the spot?
A: Diagnoses are made after careful review of all assessment information.  A diagnosis cannot be guaranteed.  Any diagnoses will be discussed in the final feedback session and a diagnostic letter or report will be provided.

Q: Can I use my report for work or study accommodations?
A: All reports will include recommendations for work or study accommodations.  These accommodations cannot be guaranteed based upon the results of the assessment.

Q: Is the process stressful?
A: Our assessments are conducted in a supportive, non-threatening environment, designed to be comfortable and respectful.

Q: Can my assessment be completed via Telehealth online?

A: Absolutely!  In most case, all assessment sessions can be completed online via Telehealth.

​

Q: Will I be prescribed medication following my assessment?

A: Psychologists are not able to prescribe medication.  If medication is a desired outcome, a GP referral to a psychiatrist would be recommended.

​

Q: Why complete an assessment with a psychologist rather than a GP or psychiatrist?

A: Psychologists generally provide a much more comprehensive assessment.  We include more information about your strengths and difficulties with an more individualised focus on your individual presentation.

Q: How much does an assessment cost?

A: Please see our table above for the pricing related to autism and/or ADHD assessment.  These are our most common assessments but if you require anything additional, our admin team can provide an individualised quote for you.

Q: Are any Medicare rebates available to cover the cost of assessment?

A: Unfortunately Medicare does not provide any rebates to cover the cost of assessment.  Private health rebates may be available if you have psychology coverage.

​

Q: Why are assessments so expensive?

A: In addition to the time in session, there are many additions costs involved.  This includes costs involved with questionnaires and assessment tools, scoring and interpreting tools, general administrative time and report writing.
