When you are ready, give us a call to discuss booking in an appointment.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT
Upon making an appointment, you will be provided with some paperwork to complete online.
Please complete this paperwork online before your session. If you are not able to do this online, we can provide you with paper copies of the documentation. Just let reception know and we can organise this for you.
If you have a referral from your GP, please bring it with you.
In preparation for attending your future appointment, you may find it helpful to complete the following form:
The first session typically begins with learning about your psychologist and policies and procedures, such as confidentiality and privacy.
Your psychologist will conduct a psychological assessment, which involves talking about the reason for your visit, your current life situation, difficulties and any related factors and history.
This is important to enable her to work with you to create the most effective and efficient treatment plan for your personal situation. Typically, in the first session your psychologist will also work with you to create goals for therapy.
The assessment usually fills your first and second visit. This is also a good opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.
Following the psychological assessment, your psychologist will be able to decide which therapeutic modality is most suitable for you and your experience.
Your psychologist will work with you to devise a plan that best meets your needs and will help you to achieve your goals for therapy
FEES & REBATES
We are committed to providing accessible and high quality psychological treatment. Our fees are set well below those recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

The Medicare rebate ranges from $86.15 to $126.50 depending upon the psychologist you are seeing at the clinic.
We also accept referrals from Workcover, DVA and NDIS (plan managed or self-managed only).
A standard psychological consultation is for 50 minutes.

Notice of cancellation
We require 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel a session without occurring any fees. This policy is in place to allow us to offer the allocated time to another client who may be on a cancellation or waiting list for an appointment. In the event that less than 24 hours’ notice (or one business day) is given to cancel an appointment, 50% of your consultation fee will be charged, unless there are extenuating circumstances as agreed upon with your psychologist.
‘No shows’ without any notification will incur the full consultation fee. Medicare does not cover cancelled appointments or cancellation fees.
Cancellation fee waiver
Cancellation fees may be waived if another clients can be successfully scheduled into your time slot. For this reason, it is recommended that you cancel appointments with as much notice as possible. However, regularly rescheduling appointments will result in excessive time between your appointments and could compromise your therapy.
Regular missed appointments
Clients who regularly miss scheduled appointments or who regularly reschedule appointments at the last minute will not be offered further appointments at Broulee Psychology.
To get good results from therapy, your attendance needs to be regular and consistent. Patchy attendance makes for patchy results. Therefore the policy underlines the importance of the commitment you make to yourself, to put yourself first and work through your issues. The cancellation policy helps you to honour this commitment to yourself.
Please note that Broulee Psychology will endeavor to send SMS reminder messages at 48 hours prior to appointment in order to assist you to make your appointment. However, there may be times when SMS reminders are not sent for whatever reason so clients should be using a back up method, i.e., calendar, diary, etc. Cancellation fees will still apply even if SMS reminders are not sent.
