WHAT TO EXPECT
When working with children and adolescent clients, we find that working with their parents is very important.
This is why the first session is with parents only in order to gather information about the young person. From there, an individualised plan is discussed. This may mean working more directly with the young person or it may be more of a mixture of seeing the young person and the parent/s. This is generally based on the young person’s age, maturity level, motivation and presenting issues.
